The Manchester Band and the Marching Band are both super talented and skilled, each earning their own impressive achievements this year. Both the band and the marching band are led by the Band Director, Mr. Fens, who has been the Manchester Band Director for at least 20 years.
There is an assessment for both advanced and symphonic bands. The band goes to a different school and three judges have to assess how good the band is. March 5th is the advanced band assessment, and March 6th is the symphonic band assessment. The score is 1-5, one being the highest and five being the lowest. The Manchester symphonic band has a record of at least a decade of ones. Both advanced and symphonic have been working super hard, with rehearsal every week for three hours.
The Marching band season is over now, but they got unanimous superior ratings at the marching band assessment at Hermitage high school, which means all five judges gave the highest possible score. The score goes 1-5, one being the highest score you can get and five being the lowest. The Marching Band had an undefeated season, winning all three competitions that they were in. Every year the Marching Band goes on a trip, this year they are going to Disney World.
There is a band clinic with an expert guest instructor to help the band improve. The band clinic happens almost every time the marching band goes on their annual spring trip. A band clinic is a workshop with an expert in a certain department that is there to coach the band on what they are doing wrong and how to get better. This year’s band clinic is on sound and design. The band will be going behind the scenes on how music is made for shows and movies. The band clinics are an amazing opportunity as it allows students to learn about different band related careers.
Both of the bands are extremely talented, and they have made great accomplishments. They are always practicing and rehearsing in order to improve. Even though the marching band season is over, everyone that was a part of it still worked extremely hard to get an undefeated season. The advanced band and symphonic band both are trying hard, so that they can get a perfect score on their assessments. Everyone apart of the marching band and the band are both super skilled and work very hard in order to be as successful as they are now.
