Manchester provides students a large variety of academic clubs, some truly challenging kids to make a change or expand on their knowledge. If you want a break from the rigorous clubs and classes, Crime Solvers is a great club to attend! Hosted in the Library every first Wednesday of the month, by Ms. Richards, Crime Solvers is a great leisurely club to expand your knowledge on forensics or real world issues.
Crime Solvers strives to bring in guest speakers every meeting. This year, 2026, the last meeting brought a K-9 unit, along with their dogs. They’ve also brought firefighters, fire marshals, arson investigators, drug units and forensics. Crime solvers expose students to real world issues and occupations that could build into a passionate career.
To get a better insight into the club, I interviewed attendees Lakeyce Farris and Arantxa Sanchez to see what they had to say about the club
“A detective comes in and he talks about what they do in a crime event and they usually bring hands-on activities too,” Sanchez explained.
Seems like Crime Solvers doesn’t just offer learning, but hands on learning and activities as well. But, why would students recommend attending a club? Here’s what Lakeyce Farris had to say.
“I would recommend attending crime solvers because you learn a lot and get to see a lot. You have the experts come in, tell you about their job, show you things about or from their field, and even how you could do whatever this job is,” Farris describes.
Crime Solvers seems to be an engaging and interesting club for students looking to broaden their scope of occupations and jobs they might be interested in, in the future.
“ You can’t run from your own guilt, son,” Capt. Clay Higgins.
