The Lancer Theater Company recently produced the musical “Little Shop of Horrors”. The showings were during school on April 23rd, and then at 7:00 PM on Friday and Saturday. The tickets to see it during school were $3, and $10 on Friday and Saturday. The musical was directed by the theater teacher Mr. Carly.
The Little Shop of Horrors was originally made in 1986 directed by Frank Oz. It is about a florist named Seymour that discovers a sentient, bloodthirsty plant. He names it Audrey II, after his crush, Audrey.
Everyone that was involved in the making of the musical is extremely talented and worked very hard. They all had to stay after school until 10:00 PM everyday during tech week to make sure that nothing would mess up when actually performing. They run through the full play multiple times so that it can be perfect.
There were many people involved in making the play, like the actors, sound and lighting, props, costumes, set builders, and the orchestra. Everyone put in their own work to get this done, whether it was the actors memorizing their lines or the orchestra practicing their songs. They all worked super hard to make the musical as good as it was, and they are all proud of themselves with how it turned out.
