US Attorney General Pam Bondi was subpoenaed on March 17, 2026 to answer questions about her department’s investigation regarding the Epstein files.
The move comes after her recent hearing, in which she refused, deflected and fought back against lawmakers questioning her in the recent House Judiciary Committee hearing. The subpoena was issued by the GOP-lead House Oversight Committee. The move signals growing disillusionment GOP lawmakers have had lately with Trump’s administration.
Bondi is ordered to appear before a deposition on April 14 in which she’ll be forced to answer questions under oath regarding her department’s handling of the files.
The Department of Justice has vocalized their disagreement with the subpoena, calling it “completely unnecessary.” Lawmakers’ main gripe with the DOJ’s handling of the files is the over-redaction of certain files and hiding other documents.
