There are many factors that someone has to consider while eating. One such thing is one that many people struggle to find an answer to: “What should I eat?”. It may be blatantly obvious for some but not for others due to the rising trend of diet culture online.
There are many diets that people on Tiktok advertise as THE BEST. A few of which being low carb, macro counting, intermittent fasting, keto, clean eating, and the carnivore diet (a diet composed of only eating animal products and the most controversial one of the bunch).
The carnivore diet, while not as well known as the similar keto diet, has experienced a surge of interest on Tiktok due to influencers like Joe Rogan and the infamous Liver King (busted for lying about using performance enhancing drugs and admitting to have spent more than $11,000 a month to achieve his physique, though denouncing the carnivore diet and his promotion of it in 2025).
The Carnivore diet is by all means not as bad as shown. In fact, this specific diet is great for people with severe autoimmune disorders, pushing away the foods that their body reacts negatively to while also having enough nutrients to get through the day. This article is mostly talking about the people who take this diet to the extreme.
There are about 3 categories of the carnivore diet. The first category being people who limit their diet to anything made by an animal, that’s it. Some people in this category often don’t use much seasoning besides salt, because most herbs and spices are from plants, but it’s not that extreme regardless. The second category consists of people who eat meat, eggs, water, and nothing else. The final, and most extreme category, groups the people who not only cut out all seasonings and primarily eat meat, but also believe that the best way to eat said meat is completely raw.
There are many cultures that do this same thing, prepare foods that mostly consist of lightly seasoned/raw meat. The difference is that the people doing this for their culture are preparing this to be enjoyable, not to be congratulated for eating something that they don’t like without throwing up.
That’s the point of these diet cultures. People do this extreme stuff for shock factor and for people to leave a comment about it. It gives them attention, and also gives them money in the process. The best thing to do when seeing a ragebaiting video that is not satirical is to simply just ignore it.
