Today’s recipe is not just about the food. It’s about that frothy whipped coffee (or mostly known as Dalgona Coffee) that people were raving about in 2020.
The coffee itself is pretty easy to make since it only requires 3 ingredients and everything is a 1:1 ratio. We simply need 2 tablespoons of instant coffee, sugar, and hot water, and whisk them together. This was a bit much for me since I’m not a big coffee drinker, but I really enjoyed this over milk.
Since the coffee was a hit of sugar (at least for me), I made some ramen on the side. I used the Shin Ramyun ramen, but instead of putting the seasonings and spice packets after (how it’s usually consumed), I put the packets in with the water so that the seasonings can infuse the other ingredients. Then, I beat an egg and poured it into the broth in ribbons, I put about ⅔ of the green onions I cut in the broth for some flavor and texture, put the noodles in and let it cook. I plated the ramen once done cooking, put on a slice of cheese while the ramen was still hot to cut some of the spice, and sprinkled the rest of the green onion on top.
It was amazing. The egg had turned the ramen (a sort-of snack) into a filling meal and I felt so satisfied when I was finished eating. I implore for you to try these delicious recipes out for yourself.
