The Bad Seed is the story of a mother and daughter, with the mother trying to cope with the fact that her daughter is a psychopath and might be a murderer as told from the Crew Supervisor, Mr. Matthew Carley, in his classroom on October 17th.
Carley is the one making groups for different parts of the play (i.e. audio, props, costumes etc) and overseeing that each group (and each student leader in each group) gets their job done well in a timely manner.
“The students,” Carley states, “have done their parts incredibly well. There were deadlines that students had to meet and they, for the most part, met them. Everyone did their job exceptionally.”
Though, the creation of the play was definitely no walk in the park. When asked about the struggles he had come to face, Carley stated that the production has no true struggles besides being kind of stressful. “Most students in the crews are new and deadlines are very present, so it’s tough to get those students caught up and taught while simultaneously juggling the responsibilities of supervising the crew,” he says.
Having to cram in both teaching and supervising while making sure the entire play is perfected is no easy task, yet Carley did it all and gave us a play that made people wish there were more.
