I recently spoke with young talent Sami Akbar, and he was quick to share the two things he likes most about himself: his confidence and his passion for both school and sports.
Sami’s love for basketball started at the age of six, when his dad bought him a mini hoop. That simple beginning was fueled by a big inspiration: LeBron James. Sami admires LeBron’s “drive and effort,” which showed him the dedication it takes to succeed.
Managing both school and athletics is tough, but Sami has a clear strategy. He says he always puts school first, making sure he is a “student athlete” above all else. This focus helps him balance his time and do good in both areas.
When asked what animal he would be, Sami chose the lion because it is the “king of the jungle.” However, his dream place to live is much warmer than the jungle: Miami, Florida. He loves the city simply because of its “vibes.” Sami Akbar is a motivated young man who uses passion and confidence to lead in everything he does.
