This year, MHS students are grateful for Ms. Wyman. Ms. Wyman is an English teacher at MHS and has been an educator for 15 years. Many students love to learn from her and love to be around her.
She values education, not only saying that she would support struggling students but also knowing her position in a student’s life. She says that teachers want to help students, but they can’t help if a student doesn’t ask for help. She also really values education due to her family primarily consisting of many teachers.
Another reason why people are grateful for Ms. Wyman is how she teaches and how fun her classes are. “Unfortunately, school requires teachers to speak about boring things. So I try to do quick, competitive games with students or… change questions or online work to stuff in the real world that the kids might be interested in,” she says.
Finally, students are grateful that Ms. Wyman is a good role model. She treats not only her students with respect and care, but herself as well. She states that the younger her (in the interview, the Ms. Wyman who has been a teacher for about a year) would be very surprised yet proud of her personal growth. She would also tell her younger self to not take things personally and keep the most important things in her life in focus.
