Halloween at Manchester

This time last year, concerns of Covid-19 infection rates rising with no available vaccine put a damper on many Halloween plans.  This year, the atmosphere is slightly more relaxed, and students and Manchester are looking to make up for lost time. I know how fun a traditional Halloween can be, especially with friends and family; dressing up and going out is probably the best part about Halloween, and so these past couple weeks, I went around the school and asked students to share what they planned to do on Halloween day.

“I’m going to go to a haunted house with my girlfriend then spend the rest of the night with my family,” said sophomore Adam Dugent. Spending time with a significant other is one trend that i’ve seen the most around the school during halloween, it seems that it’s a season for lovers.

“I’m going out with my friends and then going out to get candy with them,” said senior Stephen Papiernik. This was another trend that I’ve been hearing among students, not only do they spend time with their family but their friends too.

“I’m actually going to stay home and watch movies with my dogs,” said sophomore Danny Moon. As I walked through the school and interviewed people I realised that people are doing what I did last year, which was staying at home stuffing my face with candy, which was the best, but still think people should go out and enjoy the night.
