A look at Razer’s high-tech smart mask
January 27, 2021
With the pandemic’s arrival, face masks have become a norm and necessity. Nothing shows this more than gaming hardware company Razer’s most recent product, Project Hazel. Dubbed the “smartest mask,” it is a face mask with added features that haven’t been seen before.
While functioning similarly to the N95, it also has active ventilation and an auto sterilization function. The masks come with detachable ventilators which regulate airflow while filtering particles and a charging case which makes use of UV lights to kill bacteria.
When charged, the mask protects but also makes communication easier. Coming in a transparent material designed to make expressions of one’s face visible and having voiceamp technology for unmuffled and clear speech.
This piece of technology is also made to last. Being capable of swapping its filters which have long lasting battery life. Not only does the battery last for a while but it also charges quickly with a sure fire way to tell it’s fully charged. It’s as tough as it is sustainable, being resistant to scratches and water.
The mask also allows for its user to customize and make some changes to its appearance. True to its video game tech roots, Razer is building Hazel with two lights which can be changed to whatever color your heart desires. Project Hazel is also capable of being adjusted to your specific needs, conforming to the shape of your face as well as sitting comfortably yet snugly.
Customers eager to buy the mask will have to wait, however. No price or official release date for Hazel has been given.
