With the ongoing tension between America and Iran due to discussions of nuclear programs, it seems one of America’s detractors has spoken up in support of Iran. Said detractor is the Taliban.  The Taliban is an internationally recognized, Islamic militant, terrorist organization that currently acts as the government of Afghanistan after US troops pulled out of the country in 2021.

  Currently, Iran and America are having talks about Iran’s nuclear program, many people are worried this may lead to some form of a scrimmage between the countries. With that thought in mind, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said that the Taliban would “back Iran” should Iran get into any form of conflict with the US.

Although Zabihullah Mujahid clarified that the Taliban would rather that worse not come to worse and that the countries solve their issues diplomatically, he also said that any cooperation would depend on if Iran requests for help.
