Hugo Sanchez is 17 years old and a senior at Manchester. As he gets closer and closer to his graduation, he reflects on his high school journey and says that playing high school soccer was one of his most memorable moments. Playing soccer has not only brought him joy, but also made him develop a sense of discipline, which has influenced other areas of his life such as his grades.
Hugo has realized the importance of his grades and education and has been determined to focus a lot more on his classes. Construction is a field Hugo wants to succeed in before the age of 21. “I want to join a company where I can learn the basics of starting my own construction business,” says Hugo.
An impressive thing Hugo does is balance his responsibilities at home, work and school. He works two jobs, which helps him stay focused and calm. Hugo believes that staying busy with work distracts him from stress and provides a sense of accomplishment. “I am passionate about working because it distracts me a lot, and I enjoy it,” Hugo says. Hugo also claims he doesn’t have any weaknesses. “I don’t have any because I’m him, and when you are him, you don’t have to worry about that.”
As Hugo prepares to graduate, he’s committed to getting better grades and changing his mindset to become a better person not only for himself, but also for his friendships and relationships.
