NBA star player Ja Morant has recently come under a lot of fire for off the court controversies. It is reported that he allegedly punched a 17-year-old during a pickup basketball game and also flashed a gun. The main thing that he has been in the news for, however, is flashing a pistol while on Instagram Live at a nightclub.

The NBA put Morant on a two-game suspension because of the incident, and the Grizzlies later announced that he would be away from the team for a certain amount of time, though the Grizzlies did not say how long.

After it was announced that he was suspended, Morant tweeted, “I take full responsibility for my actions last night. I’m sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire Grizzlies organization for letting you down.”

Morant also allegedly threatened a Pacers security guard, and the security guard later claimed that a red dot from a gun was shined onto his chest by associates of Morant after a verbal altercation. He also allegedly got into trouble after an altercation occurred with his sister at a volleyball game in which one of Morant’s security guards smacked a phone out of a student’s hand.

There is still no timetable on when Morant will make his return. It is reported that he has gone into rehab for his alcohol use, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
