Patrick Mahomes was great against the Philadelphia Eagles, leading his Chiefs to a super bowl win.

Patrick Mahomes, playing on a sprained ankle, threw for 2 touchdown passes in the fourth quarter and came up with a clutch run for 26 yards on the go-ahead drive. Patrick Mahomes led Kansas City down the field for a Harrison Butker game-winning field goal.

The Chiefs won their 2nd Super Bowl title in four years led by now two time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes.

With the score tied at 35, the Eagles tried to let the Chiefs score in order to get the ball back with under 2 minutes left. This all came after a very controversial holding penalty on Eagles cornerback James Bradberry while covering Chiefs receiver Juju Smith-Schuster. On third and 8 the Chiefs gave the ball to running back Jerick McKinnon to try and pick up the first down. He ran ahead for the first and slid down at the 2 yard line forcing the Eagles to use their last timeout.

The Eagles and their star quarterback Jalen Hurts did well against the stacked Chiefs team led by tight end Travis Kelce and quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The first quarter of the game was relatively low scoring; the game was tied 7-7 at the end of the quarter, but during the second quarter the Eagles started to pull away with the Eagles outscoring the Chiefs 17-7 in the quarter. At halftime the score was 24 to 14 with the Eagles leading the Chiefs.

After halftime, the Eagles didn’t come out as strong as they did at the game’s start. The offense and their defense both disappointed and by the end of the game, the Chiefs had scored 24 second half points against the Eagles as they took home their second Lombardi trophy in four years
